Geoff Habiger Wow - no easy questions here. There are many fictional places I would love to go, but I worry that nearly all of them are too dangerous. I mean, I *know* what kinds of worlds these are. Discworld would be fun, as long as I could avoid the dangers of Unseen University. The Harry Potter world would also be fun, as long as I wasn't a muggle, and VOLDEMORT (yes, I said his name) was already defeated. The Start Trek universe would probably be the *safest* to go to, as long as I could be on a starship and wasn't wearing a red shirt. :-) So many choices, and so many hazards. Maybe it's a good thing I'm not like Thursday Next and can slip into book worlds.
Geoff Habiger Great question, and it is a mash up, because I am my own publisher (indie), but my publishing company publishes works by other authors too (traditional).

I wrote Unremarkable and Wrath of the Fury Blade with Coy)and both titles are published through Shadow Dragon Press, which is a traditional (though small - i.e. micro) publisher. Shadow Dragon Press is an imprint of Artemesia Publishing, the publishing company that I am a senior partner in. So, I didn't have to submit my manuscripts to anybody as I knew all along that the books would be published. Does that make this a vanity publishing? I don't think so, because Shadow Dragon has published work by other authors, but certainly it simplifies the acceptance process.

So - does my rambling answer your question?
Geoff Habiger I set aside the material for a while - a day (or even a week) or more, I then go back and re-read what I have written. This usually works to allow me to revisit my characters and my story, and allow them to tell me what will happen next.
Geoff Habiger Sharing my imagination with others.
Geoff Habiger Read as much as you can, from a variety of genres and authors. Reading gives me inspiration and helps me to find my own voice, and can show me what works - and what doesn't work - in writing. The other thing is to write. Write as much as you can, as often as you can, even if you don't publish something. Like any craft, if you don't practice it, you won't get better.
Geoff Habiger My first fantasy novel - The Wrath of the Fury Blade - will be published in 2018. Currently in various states of being written are sequels to Unremarkable - called Untouchable - and The Wrath of the Fury Blade called The Joy of the Widow's Tears.
Geoff Habiger By being a reader. My parents encouraged me to read as a child, and my love of reading eventually led to the realization that writing, and sharing the stories I had, was something I wanted to do.
Geoff Habiger A trip to Chicago in 2010 sparked the idea that eventually became Unremarkable.
