Read. Then read some more. Write. Then write some more. The normal advice is to read what you're interested in writing or write what you read. I'd say, write what moves you. Write what makes you laugh and cry. It's a gift to be driven to be a writer. Enjoy the gift. Unwrap it carefully and slowly. Take a look at what's inside.
