Hi Claire I am reading the new Eve Mallow book and the books all seem to follow a similar path. With that I too hope you write more Tara Thorpe books? I feel there are many interesting stories that can be written for Tara (her career growth, love life, as an officer in a bigger town more storylines) vs Eve where there is a pattern with the death of a newcomer and hints from storekeeper, Viv and a few others

Clare Chase Hi Liz and thanks very much for your question. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Tara Thorpe books. I’m afraid I haven’t got any more planned at the moment, but I did enjoy writing them (though I love creating the Eve Mallow mysteries too!) I think the two series are essentially different sub-genres and Eve fans tend to say it's those familiar elements you mention that keep them coming back. For my own part, I really love both sorts of story, and totally see your point of view and theirs. I’d love to write both at once but time is an issue! At the moment I’m contracted to write more Eves as the series is going well. However, I’m hoping to writing another police series set in a town at some point. I will post about it on my blog when there’s more news on that. Take care and all the best.

Hi Clare, I have just finished the 4th book in the Tara Thorpe series. I have the idea that the story is left with an open end and that is disappointing….. Will there be a follow up? I have really enjoyed reading the books. Regards, Tineke (from Holland)

Clare Chase Hi Tineke, thanks so much for your question! I'm delighted that you've enjoyed the books so far. I'm currently writing a new series featuring obituary writer, Eve Mallow, but I might go back to Tara one day. I really enjoyed writing about her and Blake. As such, I wanted to tie up the main story lines that run through the first four books, but also to leave myself the option of giving them another mystery!
