I am keeping a blog which is all about my experiences working overseas and life as an expat. The blog is also about my personal transformation as I come to terms with being middle-aged -- making peace with the person I am, but knowing there is room for growth.

I continue to think about writing another sexuality education book for youth/young adults that focuses more on relationships and technology. It's a tough sell, because schools are so tied to National and/or State Standards in health education, and frankly our country does a horrible job of prioritizing the right things we should educate our children on when it comes to helping develop a healthy sexuality.
But no harm in thinking, right?

I am inspired to write when I see or experience something that makes me think. I enjoy being challenged by my day-to-day life, and if something lingers in my brain for a while, it won't go away until I write about it!
I am also motivated to write when a particular cause makes the news and is misrepresented. As a researcher, it bothers me when media outlets over simplify findings to create a sensational, but inaccurate, story about the lives and experiences of youth and young adults. I long for accuracy in reporting so that we create a much less fearful, but more accurate, depiction of this generation.
