Writers get to enter into the heads of other people. They often write from experience, and can write out scences that they wish had happened, instead of what did happen. They can go into the imaginary world of fiction, of fantasy, and get momentary escape from life's troubles.

I try to write short stories, or read books from my favorite authors to get inspired. Sometimes, while writing a chapter, I'm stuck since just not feeling it. I put a page break in the middle, and start with the next scene. Sometimes inspiration comes later, other times I delete the scene altogether.
