Hi Debra,
Thank you for sharing your MS story - I can certainly relate. I was inspired to write Love Sick because when I was told I had MS I was 28 and single and suddenly felt that I was unlovable. While I now know this to be untrue, I dated plenty of men who made it quite clear that this was true for them, so I wrote about those tales along with the countless MRIs, the variety of tests and the endless doctor appointments. I wrote my truth because I knew I couldn't be alone in my journey and by reading your brief story I already know that I am not. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to me. Write. Then live. Then write again. Then live some more. Then keep writing. The biggest piece of advice a teacher ever gave me was to write from experience, but if you're stuck behind your computer all day then what kind of experience will you have to draw from? That's why I say you must live your life to its most extreme, live in the places you always dreamed of, let your imagination run wild, say yes to all opportunity, be open to change and the impossible. If you can do all this and still have that dying urge to continue to write then you know you're on the right path.

I am currently working on the final draft of my memoir. The journey to finish this book has been a long one, but well worth it.
