A new novel that for the first time ever hasn't even got a working title. I'm about 100 pages in, but it's extending in front of me in ways I hadn't quite anticipated when I started. I think it's going to need a lot of editing.

Reading really good authors often makes me long to be writing again myself. Once I'm working on something, it's in my head nearly all the time, working away. If a couple of characters start talking in my head, that gets me going too.

It's come from my own childhood, particularly my background in the North East of Scotland, the close relationship with my sister and cousin, and also from my reading and re-reading - and love for - Alice in Wonderland!
