Thank you. There seems to be some confusion with two authors listed. You seem to be under Sandra Ann Horn as well. Which would you prefer?

Sandra Horn When my first book came out, another Sandra Horn published Kofi and the Butterflies virtually simultaneously. It caused no end of trouble with my publishers, Andersen, who had first refusal on my next book and thought I had reneged and gone to another publisher. The solution seemed to be to add my middle name, Ann, to further books of mine, hence the confusion. I don't mind which version is used, but to be clear, I didn't write Kofi and the Butterflies (which is a lovely story, by the way!).

Are you the same Sandra Horn who writes children's books? i.e. Tattybogle

Sandra Horn YES! It was my first book and then was made into musical by Starshine.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sandra Horn Two ideas: one was from a girl-child scarecrow in a friend's chicken run - Tassie's Secret, the other was from another friend's delightful, bouncy grand-daughter - Bouncing Millie. Millie would rather be a trampolinist than a princess, which I thought was a good counter-blast to the stuff little girls get fed these days.

How do you get inspired to write?

Sandra Horn From when I was a child. As soon as I could write legibly, the joy of making my own stories and poems took me over.

Sandra Horn I'm trying my hand at a short story for a planned anthology

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sandra Horn Write! read it out to people you trust. Listen to them, but make up your own mind. Listen to yourself as you read - it will pick up the uneven bits or places where the pace drags. Write it again. And again, until it's as polished as you can make it.
