Never say you can't do it. Don't try to compare yourself to other writers because that will always be a losing battle. It's not about being good enough in comparison to others. It's more about being happy with your own work. I struggled with this for a long time, and I feel like it held me back for so long because I never felt like my book was ever going to be worthy of being on a shelf. I had to constantly remind myself that this was about my dream of writing books. I eventually let go of the feeling of inadequacy as a writer. Your writing style is uniquely your own, so it's impossible to compare with someone else's style.

Being a writer gives me the ability to do what I want on my own terms. It's very freeing for me, and it has always been a passion of mine. We all know how hard it is to find something to be truly passionate about, and I feel so lucky to have found that in writing.

I usually have to step away from writing once I hit that "wall" because I know whatever I try to write at that point will just be scrounging for anything. I don't want to have to try so hard to be creative. That is something that should come freely. I'll know when it does, and that is when I go back to writing.
