Barry Ryerson I am disabled and often it takes me hours before I have the strength to get out of bed. During this time, my mind is often quite active, and can run through images and stories quickly. The Child of Fire and Earth stemmed from a simple question: what if climate change was more related to dragons? I then worked out how that could be, then built a world system based on 15th Century Europe, and a magic system based on elements.
Barry Ryerson Write. Write more. Keep writing. It doesn't matter if it's a single sentence or whole books, the more you write the better your craft will be.

Barry Ryerson I've been wanting to read or see certain kinds of stories, ones I've not really found yet. Being a writer means I can make the world I'd want to read about.
Barry Ryerson I try to work on multiple projects, so that if I'm stuck on one I can work on another. Even so, sometimes words just don't work, so there can always be other things to do instead, such as planning, artwork, mood boards, or even just another creative outlet such as music.
Barry Ryerson I'm currently editing a New Adult/Crossover sci-fi, where magic returns to Earth with disastrous results.
