Support of family and friends got me picking up pen to paper after 12 months where I had previously put the works to one side and did not have the confidence suddenly to finish the book.

You are free - whether full time or writing in your spare time. I found it so fulfilling it is hard to describe. It is not a job.

Edit, edit, edit. Start your marketing work at least 6 months before publishing. If in doubt or de-motivated, call upon fellow author. I found LinkedIn author groups tremendous - I got hard, truthful feedback when I asked for it and positive supportive notes.

Wait and see. I'm not sure whether the adventures should continue after the perennial migration, or if I should start a completely different story.

Well really as a child I had thoughts about writing a book. The offer that prompted me though was 40 years later and provided by the Amazon kindle publisher program - So I became an Indie author.
