Often, inspiration comes from the most common and mundane places, like a story heard on NPR or even the remembering of a dream. Nature always inspires me. I find it almost impossible to write a story without a tree featured somewhere inside the pages.

Nap, brisk walk or run; simply walking away from my story. It always amazes me that a few minutes of separation from my work renews my brain cells and gets the old creativity flowing again.
