Mike McHargue Good people did nothing. Evil won.
Mike McHargue What a tough question! I think I was particular vision of the future in Egan's Diaspora. I'd enjoy creating numerous copies of my conscious to explore the Universe and merging back to share experiences over eons.
Mike McHargue I've got a list from a couple of years ago here: http://mikemchargue.com/blog/2014/4/5...

I read *a lot* so I'm never sure what the criteria for a 101 would be! I'm trying to use Goodreads as a platform for those who'd like to go deeper into my reading list.
Mike McHargue My days over the summer are mostly spend on Season 3 of The Liturgists Podcast and the marketing plan for Finding God in the Waves.
Mike McHargue Write every day–even if the writing is bad. You have to write a terrible draft to get to something good. What happens on the page is never as good as the unformed vision in your mind, but it's always better than what you never write down while waiting for perfection.
Mike McHargue Organizing your thoughts for the page has a lasting benefit to clarity in your mind, and seems to be about as therapeutic as seeing a professional (and it's cheaper).
Mike McHargue I read six to eight books a month and walk outside a lot. :)
Mike McHargue I sit down at the keyboard with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I turn off all notifications on all devices. I play some music (almost always Atlas by Sleeping At Last). I open my writing app (Scrivener) full screen.

Doing this every day tends to keep writers block from forming.
Mike McHargue I've had an interesting faith journey that includes conservative evangelicalism, atheism, and mystical Christianity. My story tends to provoke questions about how and why I made those transitions, and Finding God in the Waves is my attempt to give the answers to those questions the time and attention they deserve.
