A few years ago I visited a friend of the family suffering from a life threatening illness, who was unable to celebrate the Holiday's with their family. I felt their pain, and shivered at the thought of sitting around the dinner table with the dreaded empty chair. In the waiting room, praying silently for them, I heard a melody in my head. Upon returning home, I sat at the piano and wrote the song, later recorded by my wife who lost her grandmother to Alzheimer's.
Throughout the following year, I penned a novel based on the song. It stems from my life experiences and epitemizes how God can use tragedy to lead us to triumph. It is not a sad book, but very upbeat, filled with much humor, twists and turns along the way, and a stunning ending!
