My life--living a life of addiction and recovery. I know that my story is not unique in and of itself, but it is a different perspective that I think will help others struggling with their own addiction. Being a therapist and sex addiction specialist with a history of significant trauma and addiction is not a story I have heard until now.

I am inspired to express myself through writing because I know the consequences of staying isolated--externally and internally. Keeping to myself is a breeding ground for pain and writing is my medicine.

I am currently exploring the inner workings of what it means to date while active in a 12-step recovery program. I have learned so many interesting and important aspects of what it means to actually "date" another person. I didn't know was dating was in my past--it has been an eye-opener now that I am sober!

I listen to music. I grab my headphones and tune to my favorite playlist. The mood of the music opens up passageways for creative discovery. I connect with the various musical themes. Music has always been a key to unlock emotions for me. I need to know what I feel in order to write.
