Mercedes Guy My advice, don't think of yourself as an aspiring writer. Aspiring for something is like reaching for it without the certainty you will grasp hold. You are already a writer, so just keep going and don't stop until you make it... That's what I've been doing!
Mercedes Guy I'm sort of working on two things, Out of the Ocean, Daughters of the Ocean Book Two, which is in its final stages, and Wildest Dreams. I am ridiculously excited for Wildest Dreams. It is going to be written in the perspective of Rae, a first year college student, and her professor, Mr. Jon Prent. Each of them are attracted to each other, and the story is strictly told through their journal entries; for Rae this includes her own drawings and poems. I have been working on this with my cousin, and great artist Emma Cromely and while it's just the beginning, it is already a blast!
Mercedes Guy Delving into the world of my characters and seeing where it takes me. I think the best thing about it is how they usually surprise me. I was just working on a piece and I thought, "I can't believe this guy is so angry! I've always pictured him so happy and carefree." I never know for sure where the story will take me until I put pen to paper.
Mercedes Guy Usually from a good song. In the case of What It Took To Realize it was my obsession for mermaids and love for hybrids! Voodoo was inspired from Alexz Johnson's "Voodoo". And a fun side-project I am working, Wildest Dreams on was inspired by a few songs, Alexz Johnson's "Cologne", and Taylor Swift's "Style", and "Wildest Dreams".
