Hello! Writing a book is a sort of tricky beast and not all authors tackle it quite the same way. In Neil Gaiman's words:
"You write. You finish what you write.
I love this article by him, too: http://neil-gaiman.tumblr.com/post/10...
There really is no easy way to finish a story and I tell all of my fans this. Just write and write until you can't write it anymore. It will never be "finished" but you must choose a stopping point at which you can release it to the world in a mostly pleasing state. I wrote Fluorescence: Fire Starter in 30 days because I was inspired to write... I wrote Dark Diary over the course of 16 years. Not all books will take the same amount of time to finish.
As for the Audible thing - I have background in voice acting and I do voice work for commercials and businesses on the side now and then, so I have an at-home recording studio. ACX allows authors to submit their own audiobook recordings to Amazon/Audible.
Good luck!! Hope this helps!

Never give up and never stop writing. It's cliché, perhaps, but it's the truth. One of the most terrible questions I've ever been asked about writing was "How do I keep motivated when writing takes up so much time..."
Unfortunately, this kind of answer cannot be answered simply and often it may indicate a change in profession is in order.
In truth, writing takes a lifetime. It doesn't matter how many times you have to write or re-write a story, it needs to be done (and done right) and your imagination won't let you rest until it's finished, or at least, "good enough" to see the light of day. No story - no art - will ever be PERFECT, but sometimes you need to stand back, evaluate it, and decide when it's just at it's peek time and ready to meet the world.
There is no time limit on art, nor should a true writer ever be discouraged by the amount of time it takes to complete such art. It's something we do. Something we LIVE for. Writing is passion and any amount of time spent doing something we are passionate about should always be internally motivating.
Most importantly, write the TRUTH. Write what is true to YOU. If it resonates with others, then it becomes a wonderful and thrilling coincidence.

I am currently working on finishing the last 2 books in the initial Fluorescence series. I say "initial" because it may not be the end of the entire series as a whole. Just the first part.... I will see when the time comes.
I am also working on several other book series: A Vampire Anthology. Fantasy-Magic/Fiction, and a Mythological fiction.

Fluorescence started off as an incredibly vivid dream. A dream so real that when I awoke, I just knew it had to be written down. I knew it was something BIG. Something special.
It started as a one page synopsis which I tucked away for another time, but the idea never left me. I had been so affected by the visions--the glowing neon light crackling beneath my skin in the darkness. The fear of something or someone hunting me in my dreams. Finding others who also had the light inside them.
As I worked to quickly type every single detail about the dream down before forgetting it, I suddenly saw imagery of the book cover designs pop into my head.
Being a graphic artist, this happens often when it comes to art and design ideas, however, I already knew exactly which artist would make this happen. Now, more than a year later, this vision is coming to life. The books look exactly as I had imagined they would, and what I was certain would be a 3-part series is evolving into a 4 part one instead. It's so exciting to finally bring this incredible thing to life!
