I'm delighted to talk about dystopian political novels. The first two books in my trilogy are "A Mound Over Hell" and "A Fastball for Freedom."

Gary Morgenstein No writer really does. Every day you wake up with the horrible thought that the cup has run dry and you don't have anything left. That's nonsense so the only way to get past that is to write. A paragraph. A sentence. Anything to send that boulder back up the hill.
Gary Morgenstein Oh, reaching people I don't know and will never meet who have honored me by entering my world and hopefully, being touched and moved.
Gary Morgenstein Write. Don't talk about it. Don't tell everyone you have a great story. Either do or do not. And be prepared for the hard work, the seemingly endless editing, the self-doubts. But it's worth it.
Gary Morgenstein My Work-in-Progress is the third and final novel in my Dark Depths dystopian political trilogy, A Dugout to Peace. I'm almost done with the all-oh-so-crucial first draft. Who doesn't hate the blank page, the Lex Luther of writers.
Gary Morgenstein Guilt and discipline. Just about every day. Let's remember that writers are always writing even when we're physically not. Thinking is equally important. Sometimes you drift away, but I started productive daydreaming back in first grade when my mother was called to school because I was disrupting the class by making up stories with my pencils.
Gary Morgenstein I wanted to address a dystopian America which has failed democracy, in a world polarized by war, and how the characters fight through the darkness to get to the other side where they realize there is more that unites us than divides us.
