I am always imagining things that could happen, and how they would happen, and sometimes there are ones that keep going and evolving. Then it needs to be written.

I am constantly awed by how real it becomes, where the characters are their own people, and there are things that feel like they have to happen. It is almost as if you are discovering the story, and learning it, instead of writing it, and that amazes me.

It depends. If I am having trouble with what happens next, but know something that will happen later, I may write the scenes out of order. Sometimes forcing yourself to write even five lines is enough, but sometimes you really need to go out for a walk. Is the issue that you are scared, or that you are following the wrong track with a plot line? And it really just depends.

Write. Reading a lot of different things is important, and having creative ideas is important, but you lose it if you don't write it out. Even if you think it sounds terrible, keep writing, and go back and re-write later. It's the only way to progress.

I had a dream the night before going to a concert. The bass player was in the hospital after being attacked by vampires, and one came to finish him off. I tried to fight off the vampire and couldn't, but the lead singer came in to help. It's not unusual for me to get ideas in dreams, or to dream about vampires.
