How do you get inspired to write?
Paula Vince I have two new projects I'm scribbling away ideas for. One is a new fiction which is not exactly a sequel to my last novel, but has a few characters in common. The other is writing out my grandfather's true story, as he lived a remarkable life.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Paula Vince I read books by other people, write a blog post, look up some good articles on the internet about my interests or listen to others talk about whatever they are inspired by at the moment. Doing something 'sort of' writing related seems to prime the pump.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Paula Vince At the risk of sounding trite, I think our characters do become our best friends, as we invest so much emotional energy into them. For this reason, I consider that I've gained many friends. I've worked hard for them, but it's been well worth it.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Paula Vince My most recent book is Imogen's Chance. Part of the idea came from the coastal town of Port Elliot, South Australia, which has a very beautiful but treacherous seaside walk. I couldn't help but imagine some of the events and disasters which might happen there.
