I originally wrote the book as a dual-narrative detailing the story if Molly had made her decision one way, and also telling it as if she had decided differently, but rewrote it as a straight story that encompasses both storylines after taking advice.
The idea came from that strange place inside me that likes to ponder the concept of good and bad. Such opposing extremes don't appeal to me when the multitude of grey in between is far more interesting. Are people ever only good or bad? What makes good people do bad things? And how would someone recover from a terrible lapse of judgement if their basic belief is they are a good person?
