Hi, thanks for getting in touch! I'm sorry to let you and your friend down, but the third book does not exist in any form. I write books so slowly that I thought it would be better (not just for my career, but for my mental health) to focus on new projects that have a chance of succeeding rather than a series that, to be honest, failed to find enough of an audience to continue. I hope your friend will decide to try some of my other work, but alas the Trent series is no more.

Hi, Jami! Thanks for asking. Goodreads didn't alert me to your reply, so I'm glad you've reprinted your question here. I have indeed been giving self-publishing the third volume a lot of thought! I don't know if I would crowd fund it--I've never done that--but it's looking increasingly like the only way the trilogy will be completed (or continued into a longer series, for that matter). I'm glad you like Philip, by the way! He's my favorite character!

Hi, Bookworm! I'm so glad you loved the Trent series! It always makes me happy to hear from readers who enjoy my work. In response to your question, I have good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that the first two books in the Trent series did not sell well at all. In fact, they sold so poorly that the publisher doesn't want to publish the third. Now here's the good news: You can help them change their mind by telling all your friends to read the Trent series. Hi, Matthew! It took roughly a year to write DIE AND STAY DEAD. Like DYING IS MY BUSINESS, it went through a lot of different versions before it became the version you'll see when the novel comes out in September. Luckily, I have a great bunch of fellow writers I workshop with. Their input was spectacular and, at times, utterly lifesaving. Unfortunately, I'm also a very slow writer, and the plots for these novels are quite intricate, so it all adds up to taking a lot longer to write than I thought it would. Thanks for asking!
