Martin Shone Those butterflies gnawing at my gut. How can something so delicate inspire such feelings of dreadful anticipation?
Martin Shone My next book of poetry, a children's/YA novel, a surreal love/life story but mostly I'm working on getting more reading inside me.
Martin Shone I'm idle so I always have writer's block, until I write and that's how I deal with it.
Martin Shone I don't have a seasonal reading list, that's just crazy!

I read the next book, simple as that :)
Martin Shone I can't say I have a favourite fictional couple. Apart from the obvious detective parings of Holmes & Watson, Poirot & Hastings etc., I don't think I have one but if I had to choose I reckon they would be from my favourite book which is Shogun by James Clavell.

John Blackthorne and the Lady Mariko

Martin Shone Sorry you still haven't received the book. I'll contact the Post Office but I'm not sure what they can do as it has been so long now, but I'll see what they say. I don't have anymore copies available to send out at the moment as I gave my last one away a few days ago, but if you still haven't received it by the end of May I should be ordering some more as Book 2 should be published soon.

Fingers crossed you will have the book soon!

Martin Shone I posted the book to you on the 16th February, I'm sorry you haven't received it yet. I still have the proof of posting so if you haven't had the book soon let me know and I'll contact the Post Office.
Martin Shone The book I'm working on at the moment came about at my local cafe. I generally order a coffee, read some of whatever book I'm reading at the moment and then simply relax into myself I guess and just wait and see what happens. It just so happened several little unusual and rather surreal thoughts came to me so I jotted them down and now I have a little over 6,000 words. I don't think I was planning on writing something bigger than my usual poetry but these short phrases seemed to belong to each other and so after bringing them together and letting my imagination run with it, I now have the beginning of a "something". I think it's looking like it could be a rather philosophical, spiritual, elemental love story.
Martin Shone Read, and not only the genre in which you wish to write, read it all. If, for example, you want to write romance do not only read romances because if you do your mind will become sodden with romance and therefore so will your writing. Read a wide variety, read non-fiction, read fiction, read poetry, read it all, and out of all this you will have a bank of memory waiting to flourish upon your pages. Read and so write the impossible because it will become possible through all which you have devoured. And don't forget, relax and enjoy!
Martin Shone Writing and creating, simple as that.
