My husband and I came up with the title but I can't remember when or how. We've wanted to write a book together for awhile, and finally (after lots of thinking, prayer, and talking) to write a devotional book for couples. We've had tons of fun together as we've written, and shed a few tears, as well. The best part? We still like each other and are grateful to share the book with the world in just a few weeks.

I get inspired when a perfect title comes to mind. I don't know why that is, but it's true. Usually, publishers change titles when the book goes into production, but most of my titles have stayed.
I also get inspired by my relationships--to God, my family, and friends. And when I spend time in solitude, silence, and prayer, the best ideas often bubble to the surface.

Learn about the publishing world before you ever decide to submit. Follow guidelines to the letter, and be professional and easy to work with. Remain teachable, no matter how much success you have. Go to conferences and try to join a critique group. Also, set small goals and work daily to reach those goals. read as widely and as often as you can, in many different styles and genres. And if you want to be published, don't give up. I had 54 rejections on book proposals before I got my first contract. Most people give up too easily.
