Tia Fanning I usually brainstorm with other authors. You'll be surprise how discussing story elements with other creative minds can help you over that hurdle.
Tia Fanning The he therapeutic effect writing has on the mind. Sometimes you have to put your thoughts on paper/screen to organize the chaos in your head. Then you weave this new creation into a story--or an article, or blog post, or diary entry, whatever.
Tia Fanning Writers write. You write the story in your head and in your heart even if you don't plan on publishing it. No one may ever read it, and that's okay. Write it anyway. But remember this: You never know what the future may hold. Emily Dickinson is a good example of this. I doubt Ms. Dickinson ever thought her work would reach and touch so many after she was gone.

Tia Fanning I often find I'm inspired while in the shower. (lol) Sometimes dreams also inspire me. For example, I wrote Taken With the Enemy based on a dream I had. Of course, real life also inspires me -- my own experiences, people watching, etc.
Tia Fanning For Billionaire Auction, I was having a discussion with author Brynn Paulin about what to write, and it kind of unfolded from there. We got together to write this story -- and I had a blast. She is an amazing author.
