Hannah Heat Hi Ms. Felling:

So sorry about the delay. For some reason, I never saw this question posted and was not notified about it. Here's the basic premise of the book.

Life in a quaint, isolated Bavarian village withstands constant threat from the surrounding Forbidden Forest, a place Elsa Gutz's parents warn her never to go. Childhood myths passed down through the ages depict the Forest as a place of evil, corruption, and irreversible horror, full of witches, warlocks, and werewolves. Those who enter the Forest never return, and if they do, they come back as something entirely different.

One day, Elsa meets a man named Theo with whom she falls deeply in love, but who harbors a terrible secret involving the Forbidden Forest. What she soon discovers may force her to cross the border into the place from which there is no salvation or escape, in order to save the one person she truly loves.
Hannah Heat My own persona belief is that the humanities and storytelling specifically are a very human activity which serves a purpose for our evolutionary heritage. The Arts help society make sense of things which don't make any sense; they sort out the confusion caused by a higher intelligence. Because of that, I believe anyone, for whatever reason, has the obligation to write and create, not just for themselves, but for the one (or more) person who might seek out their work. It truly makes a difference, and in a general way, contributes to a thriving culture, the only real bulwark against backwardness, despotism, ignorance, and barbarism we humans have.

In other words, writing makes life truly matter and it's never wasted time. If you start from a genuine place of curiosity and child-like wonder, you'll get better.
Hannah Heat My answer is relatively intellectual. I was thinking about the relationship of innocence to human goodness. I mean, the question you might ask yourself is, "Is innocence all the conducive to being a good person? Is it possible that adults retain some of their innocence, and if you pay close enough attention to their story, might their innocence actually cause them to behave destructively?" This novel is essentially my own personal answer to that question. I'll give you a hint to what I think is true, summed up in one sentence.

The road to Paradise is paved not with innocence, but with love.
Hannah Heat The best thing about being a writer, by far, is the freedom to think my way into someone else's skin. If I had an X-men superpower, it would definitely be the ability to instantaneously read someone else's mind, past, personality, family relation, all at once. I'm fascinated by people--what makes them who they are, how and to what extent they can change, how they create meaning in their lives, and how they effect each other. Books and stories work all these issues out and (sometimes) give answers to those questions that are probably true.
Hannah Heat I'm currently hard at work on an expanded, much deeper story to "Watched by Warlocks." This is probably the one book I am the most proud of, because it encapsulates everything I believe in. The expanded version, entitled "Alpha Wolf's Calling: A BBW Paranormal Shifter Romance," features two new major characters that make the original story the tip of the iceberg of what Ava must go through, and heightens the one major lesson she ultimately learns about herself. I've really put a lot of thought into this novel, and I can't wait until readers tell me what they think...
