I got the idea for Mastering the Marshal (sort of) from watching Deadwood and Justified. I love the actor Timothy Olyphant and his portrayal of Raylan Givens. Plus, I needed a third book for my Loving the Lawman series. ;-)

I have two stories in mind. I've written the first few pages of each. One is a murder/mystery, and the other is a mature contemporary romance with a touch of humor and suspense.

I read to get over not wanting to write. Honestly, I don't believe in writer's block. I believe in laziness, fear, and any number of excuses I use to keep from writing. Sometimes, it's a matter of daily life intervening, like caring for an injured 90-year-old mother.
