My most recent book, soon to be published, is a memoir of my young childhood growing up in a small community so it is actual lived experiences from when I was a kid. That seems like a long time ago - I grew up in the early 1950's and during my first few years we didn't have any electricity or running water in the house so it was interesting. I'm now 75 years young and my niece asked me to tell her about what it was like when I was growing up so I decided to put it down in a book. My previous books have mostly been cookbooks and that inspiration came from a life of being around many, many cooks and learning to cook also.

All kinds of ways. Mostly I just sit down at my computer and write. If I get stuck I will go for a walk outside or listen to some music. I have been very fortunate in that I have never had much of a problem with writer's block. That may be because I don't write fiction though.

I am just finishing up a memoir of my childhood growing up in the country in the early 1950s. It's a little like the "Little House on the Prairies" books but set in a small Canadian community. The current plan is to write a second book in the series, although that could change. Not sure yet of a publication date but the current working title is "Gaspe Days".

You get to express ideas you are interested in and want to share with others. And simply the satisfaction of writing something that appears to be appreciated by others, which you determine from the sales of your books.
