My inspiration to write comes from my passion of history, Norse mythology and family ancestry. I want my children to feel as connected to their Scandinavian heritage the way I do. To do this I write books on the popular celebrations of Scandinavia using characters from Norse mythology to help the stories come alive.

It was late-2019 when I began the hunt for a Yule book for my son. I wanted it to include the Norse pagan origins of the holidays in a way that fosters feelings of warmth and magic the way Christmas stories do.
The search went on for a month. I couldn't find anything that met my expectations. I eventually decided to write it myself and turned my attention to researching the origins of Christmas and Santa. Following this I had a head full of ideas! I just had to combine them into the perfect, humble and inclusive book for kids.
