Vikk Simmons Ever since I read Irving Stone's marvelous The Agony and the Ecstacy about the life of Michaelangelo, I have longed to go back in time to meet him and watch him sculpt, particularly the David.

I mean think about it: What if you had the ability like Voyager's Captain Janeway, to go back to visit Leonardo Da Vinci in his library/lab? I'd even go for that.

One thing I did manage to do was take a trip to Florence, Italy and see man of Michaelangelo's works and visit his burial site in the Santa Croce church. As a bonus, I also saw Gallileo's, too.

Why? I don't know. Maybe because I read Stone's book when I was 13 and read it every year after that for ten years. It had an impact on me, that's for sure. Maybe because I so admire Michelangelo's creativity and the work he created. Maybe because Irving Stone wrote in such an intimate way in Michaelangelo's point of view that I felt I was working with him as he sculpted and experienced his creative process. Whatever the reason, that is one thing I would love to do.
