Emanuela Cooper I don't really get writers block.

I write 7 days a week. At the moment, working on my first draft, I aim to write 1 hour a day, sometimes a little more. As I finish up for the day, I open up a new idea on the page, to offer myself a seed to get the next day started.

If I get stuck on a point, I leave and move onto something else. I put it to one side and jot down another idea that's in the back of my mind.

Once I start, though I'm only writing an hour a day, the other 23 hours, the story is always with me, day or night, moving, growing, changing in my mind.
Emanuela Cooper Writing makes me happy.

It gives me a parallel life, so no matter what challenges I may be facing in my life, I have this other life, the life of the story I am writing.

I feel strong and positive when I am writing. It gives me energy for everything else.

I find that for me, writing is the most creative form of art. I start from nothing and I create something that didn't exist before.

One day I will die, but my books will always be here. I am creating something that will last forever and I like that very much.
Emanuela Cooper Don't let doubts about yourself stop you. If you feel you have something you want to write, sit down and write it.

Sometimes you might get to the end of a writing session and not enjoy what you've written, but when you look back with fresh eyes the following day, you may find that it wasn't that bad after all. In fact, you may quite like it. The work can always be improved, the important thing is to start.

Don't get rid of anything. If you don't like something or know how to use it, just put it to one side, in a well named file. There may come a moment when it is just what you need.
Emanuela Cooper I'm very excited to be working on the first book of a trilogy.
It is the story of a family living in a small caravan in Wales who decide to move to the Island of Ibiza in 70's.
My narrative centres twin girls growing through childhood to early adulthood. Though physically identical; as time passes, their contrasting characters and choices pull their lives in dramatically different directions.
