Oh my! So sweet of you to update the review and to send me a message. I know what you mean about losing the details of a book once you've read it; I even have this problem with the things I write! So it means the world to me to know that you retained a lot! Don't worry about THE FORTUNE CATCHER; it's currently out of print and was published before e-books became a thing. I'll announce it on my website and here when it's reissued.
So...the Persian Jewish parents who didn't 'approve' of you for their son: their loss! It's amazing how Iranian Jews are so, well, Iranian. I'm one-quarter Ashkenazi (my mom's side) and yes, the rituals are so similar. The seven-day mourning period is basically 'sitting shiva'. In my first novel, the main character is half Jewish American and half Moslem Iranian, so I explored a lot of the similarities.
Good luck with your ban on book buying. I'm a hopeless addict! And thanks again for giving my novel your attention. It's all that matter to a writer. xo
