Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

Robert Bruce Cormack I heard it day by day, night by night, the slight but distinct pounding, like the beating of a heart. As it grew with my fears, driving me to pull up the floorboards, splintering wood, until I saw with my own eyes the horrible creature lurking down below in a shallow hole, the water around it murky and fetid, and to my wonder I knew it as only someone so intimate could know a sump pump.

Hello Bruce, I am waiting for your sequal. When is it coming?

Robert Bruce Cormack I forgot to answer the second part of your question. There's enough of a back story in the second book to make it understandable without reading the first, but you still won't (I think, anyway) have a true feel for the characters. The second book is called "Otis Cries for You" and is told from Margot's perspective. It helps to know (from the first book) how far Margot's come from the first book. Margot's the true hero, in my opinion, and this extends to the third novel as well.

Hello again Bruce, I forgot to say to you in the first mail - I found your book in an airport, and read half of it. 2 weeks later, my mate said cheers to that book, and that there would be a sequal. Is it necessary to complete the first book to understand the second? If so, how much time do I have before the sequal?

Robert Bruce Cormack The sequel's been delayed owing to a second printing of "Horse." With the second printing, I've been allowed to make some corrections (I had a bad editor). Both the second and third books in the trilogy are done. Hopefully, I'll have more news in the spring. I'll post something here as soon as I know.
