If I could travel into a fictional book world, I would go through the Wardrobe into Narnia. I would meet the delightful creatures there and spend a lot of time with Aslan. Lewis tells us that there is an Aslan in our world that we know by a different name: Jesus. But I'd still love a visit to Narnia.

I have a tall stack of books primed and ready for this summer. I'm currently reading The Day the Revolution Began by N.T. Wright. I also intend to get back into reading The City of God by St. Augustine. I will also be reading Impossible People by Os Guinness and Unspeakable by Os. I intend to read The Quartet by Joseph Ellis, and Dynamics of World History by Christopher Dawson. I'm sure I'll through some fiction into the mix by reading Colleen Coble and Elizabeth Camden novels (and maybe some Jane Austen.)

I'm writing regularly for the MorningStar Journal. I've been writing a series entitled Restoration of America for the last two years. I am still working on this. There is a lot to cover as I delve into early American history to discover what we can pull into today.
I am also writing for my own website and Remnant Ministries website.

My advice for aspiring writers is to write and keep on writing. Look for every opportunity to write. Don't wait until you have a paid offer. You won't be competent for the paid offer if you only write for money. If you don't want to write for free, then you probably aren't a writer. Start a blog, write in a journal, or open a Word document and start typing. Keep on doing it until you get better and better at it. If you are a writer, you will thrive in doing so.

I don't think I've experienced writers block. I have to create time to write so by the time I've gotten free to write I am full of content. Sometimes thoughts aren't translating into prose the way I feel them and I put it on the back burner until it comes forth in a stronger manner. But in those times I simply write on something else. The greater difficulty is when too many ideas for writing pile up and I haven't the time to let them free. Not having something to write about, that doesn't happen to me.

I am always writing. Everything drives me to write. I read constantly which keeps me thinking. I pay attention to the conversations around me both virtual and in person. I think about how we think and what drives our perspectives. Worldviews influence our every action or inaction. I am always looking for that which shapes who we are as a culture and as individuals. And sometimes I feel the presence of the Lord on what I'm typing and I keep flowing as long as He is present in it. Those are the best times.

My first inspiration came from reading Francis Schaeffer. I began to write and the pages poured out. I did not have a cohesive idea of where I was going with it at that point. Then my husband and I were talking and we thought of the concept of Back to the Future. My book would be a journey back to key areas where we went off road as a nation, to course correct us onto the right road and a more stable future. My influences were the many books I have read. Also my own college experience and challenges faced in the classroom by the rampant secular postmodern worldview helped shaped the intensity in which my book covers education.
