Thanks for asking, Owen. Sorry it took me so long to answer your question, as I have been busy writing my new book with 3 editions for 3 different countries. Passion, Power, and Murder came from my love of a good mystery and my fascination with what can happen when ambition, relationships, secrets and power all collide.
One thing I particularly wanted was a strong woman detective at the centre of the story. That’s how Laura Bennett came about. I wanted her to be intelligent, determined and capable, but also human, someone readers could get to know as well as follow through the investigation.
The murder of successful businesswoman Eleanor Rhodes gave me the opportunity to build a story around secrets, relationships, ambition and the question of who could really be trusted.
I enjoyed writing Laura so much that I knew I wanted to continue with her, and that’s how The Bennett Files became a series. The second book, Revenge, Secrets, and Murder, is already available, and I’m currently working on the third book in the series, Lies, Betrayal, and Murder.
Thanks for the question; I really enjoyed writing this one!
