Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Paula Munier I was a writer and an editor for many years; but becoming an agent four years ago taught me even more about what it takes to break into publishing. And I wanted to share that in Writing with Quiet Hands.

How do you get inspired to write?
Paula Munier I read widely in the genre in which I'm writing, as well as nonfiction related to my story. Research always inspires me to write.

Paula Munier Read. Write. Revise. Repeat.

Paula Munier Explaining myself to myself!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Paula Munier Usually I only suffer from writer's block if I'm tired. So I take a break, sleep in, go to a museum or a movie or a walk in the woods. That usually primes my pump again.

Hello Paula, I am currently reading Quiet Hands and find it very useful. As a dressage rider, I have always been told to ride with quiet hands and now I'm writing with quiet hands as well. Which genre do you prefer to write? Read?
Paula Munier Thank you! I read everything--from poetry and literary fiction to book club bestsellers and genre fiction. Right now I'm reading Terry Tempest William's new book about our national parks and Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series.
I'm a sucker for crime fiction and am writing a mystery of my own right now. What about you?
