It's more that writing is my job, and I do it whether or not I feel inspired. Sometimes it all clicks into place. And sometimes it's a struggle. Either way, I have to keep trying! I've been a creative person since I was a kid, so it's part of who I am.

The best advice I got is...persistence. There are lots of great writing classes and teachers and books out there; learn all you can from them!! But know that in the end you have to discover for yourself who you are as a writer. You have to find your own voice. And you have to write, rewrite and rewrite again. I recommend finding a writer's group to help with this process. And then find that agent and/or editor who gets you. And then you have to rewrite some more. Work hard and don't give up! (If you're writing for kids, join SCBWI - the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. amazing resource!!)

Working in my pajamas is pretty awesome. I have yet to experience being a published writer (23 more days!!) but I think I have a lot to look forward to! I hope to hear from readers!! I hope to make people laugh! I'm excited to discover the best things about being a writer. thanks for your question!
