Different ways. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I go for a walk, sometimes I need to watch a movie, sometimes I just have to let the whole thing, everything, go and work on something else or take a trip or just be alone in the mountains for a long time.

Find a good topic that speaks to something deep within you, map out a chapter outline for the story and just start writing, don't think too much about it. You can edit later. Just start to get a good flow of energy going.
