My mother insists that two of my grandparents were native Americans. They never acknowledged that connection, and died before anyone could seriously investigate the claim. I did touch on this in a humorous way in my book, The Man from Sun Prairie, but it could be handled in a more serious way--think Alex Haley and Roots.
