Our most recent book was a continuation of our first novel. The inspiration came from the lives of mine and my co-author's four children and our lives in our rural community. This area inspires a lot of what ifs and it's fun to explore those.

I'm inspired by the people and world around me. I like to bring awareness to certain issues, which inspire story lines. I'm also surrounded by people with strong personalities. It's fun to mix and match character traits and personalities and roll them into imaginary people.

We've just finished the novel, The Dead of Winter. Right now we're working on marketing and promotions. The book will be released on November 24, 2015.

Keep doing what you're doing! Write. Write. Write. Just like movies and music, everyone has their own taste. Not everyone is going to love what you write. Don't take it personally. Write from the heart. Eventually, your words will find the perfect audience.

The best thing about being a writer is most definitely the interaction with the readers and bloggers. Building both national and international friendships with people who share your passion is so much fun. There are no other fans in the world like readers.

My co-author and I walk away from the project for a bit and exercise. Our best ideas come when we are up in the mountains on a jog.
