Hi Michelle, Thanks for your question. The truth of the Whitechapel murders is not WHO was jack the Ripper, but rather WHAT was Jack the Ripper. I personally believe they were five discrete murders which for reasons we don't yet understand were put under the umbrella of, first, Leather Apron, and, when that finally became untenable, Jack the Ripper. Something really shady was being covered up. Oh, and the name JtR had nothing to do with journalistic invention.
