David Nihill The idea came from recognizing two things:
1 most people are afraid of public speaking (like me) and 2, most people would like to be funnier. The book struck me as a great way to help folks overcome the former while achieving the latter. Bearing in mind Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hours to make a master there are few better placed than comedians to draw inspiration from when it comes to public speaking.
David Nihill I tested the concept for this book initially as an interactive ecourse. It meant I was able to lay out my thoughts as a teachable learning sequence and adjust based on student feedback. Basically to see what worked and what didn't. This meant when it came time to write the book I was able to dictate much of the content and build upon it. This helped hugely to avoid writers block as there were rarely times I was trying to add something new and untested, specific to the book.
