Chris Newton The idea for 'How Not to Write a Book' came from my work as an editor - seeing the kind of help inexperienced writers need, and feeling I could give it.
Chris Newton I don't need to get inspired in order to write; I have felt the desire to write since I was a child. However certain moods bring on the creative urge and the desire to get typing - usually when I'm feeling relaxed and contented with the practical stuff in my life. That doesn't happen every day.
