I've been meaning to answer this question for months now. I haven't forgotten. I just couldn't think of an answer. In middle school I was bullied a lot because of many different things. I remembered how my fourth grade teacher said something about how keeping a journal could help you through difficult times. It all just escalated from there. I began writing short stories, changing the endings to my favorite TV shows, and by the age of thirteen I was writing a novel. It was more of a hobby at first, but by the time I entered high school I realized just how passionate I was about my writing.

Considering the fact that I'm still a sophomore, it's difficult for me to juggle writing, classes, and friends. I still would never trade it for the world because writing is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love the way writing makes me feel. Of course I want my book to go big, but more than anything it's about how I feel, I guess. If that makes sense.

At one point, we were all just people with a hobby and a dream. Take it from me because sometimes people don't take me seriously because I'm fifteen. In one article I was still put down as an "aspiring writer" and that kind of made me mad. I wanted to be all like I AM a published author, not just a wannabe. Anyway, that's beside the point. I started writing when I was thirteen and never dreamed that in two years I'd be published. If a thirteen year old with a dream, an idea, and a laptop can make it this far, then so can you.

My most recent book is a sequel to my first one, so I'm basically just adding on a new character and making one of the supporting characters a main one. I did get my a little bit of my inspiration for this novel from when I was a little girl and would watch all these Disney shows. I wanted the siblings in my book series, Jeydon and Anthony, to have that type of bond in a way, except instead of it being more of a comical relationship played for laughs I wanted it to be more of something people who have went through difficult situations together could relate to.

I'm currently working on a sequel to my first published work, Only In My Wildest Dreams. I won't give out many details just yet because it's a work in progress, but I will say the title is Safe and Sound and I hope to get it published by the end of my Junior year of high school.

I usually go out on a walk or do something with a friend. Sometimes getting my mind off something for a little while is just what I need.
