A lot of people told me that life as a drifter was not so common anymore, at least not the way I lived it. It took some convincing, but I finally wrote American Drifter this year, an essay memoir about life on the road in the USA.

I am fortunate in that it doesn't really happen to me (knock on wood!). I have the opposite problem, being able to write quickly enough to catch everything.
