Sherry Christie I tend to avoid reading stories that involve early Christianity. So much of what we consider to be New Testament truth is really unknown or was invented by the church fathers of the fourth and fifth centuries. That said, I'd question taking a lot of liberties with Jesus as a fictional character. Married? Yeah, okay. Masada? Hmm. That scenario may seem perfectly okay to many readers, but my upbringing makes it difficult for me to suspend disbelief about an 80-year-old Jesus. No offense.
Sherry Christie In AMBER ROAD, treachery looms over the road to a man's honor.

They call it a road, this rutted and potholed dirt track that meanders to the northern sea where amber is found. To former Army tribune Marcus Carinna, it’s a life-threatening leap from the Roman frontier into a wilderness teeming with hostile barbarians, dangerous beasts, and giant trees said to engulf sleeping men at night.

Yet the Amber Road is the trail he must follow. Disgraced by an attack on the emperor Caligula that cost his father’s life, he must find Aurima, the bold and willful Germanic priestess who can help him restore his family honor.

When an imperial spymaster recruits him to lead an expedition into the Danubian wilderness, Marcus jumps at the opportunity to search for her. But as his troops slog along the Amber Road, he will discover that he is not out of reach of his enemies’ vengeance—and that saving the woman he loves is going to demand more heart and will than he knew he possessed.

AMBER ROAD will be on sale this spring. Thanks!
Sherry Christie Oh, it would have to be Claire and Jamie Fraser. They're each so independent and capable, yet utterly committed to each other.
