I haven't had too many times where I've had to deal with that yet. But the few times it happened, I either read another book or simply go out to a social atmosphere. With my handy dandy recorder I verbally jot down some things and start fresh the next day.

Being a writer gives you freedom to work when you feel the story coming to you. Whenever I have an idea, no matter where I am, I can pull out my recorder and verbally jot it down. Or make notes on my phone. I love all kinds of writing so even if I'm not feeling a story coming on, I might write a poem and put it in my husband's lunch for a little surprise, or send a poem to my kids in a text. They love waking up to something from their mom even as grown children.

Never give up! Write when you can. Take a leap of faith. My first book was in the making for two years, but working 70 hours a week gave me very little time to do more than jot down ideas and small passages. Even if you don't have the money to do things the way you would like, take advertising for instance, I don't have the money for that so I simply do what I can inexpensively.

Currently I'm working on part three of Jael's Birthright, Exalted. I'm also working on a book of memoirs as well as a contemporary romance.

Starbucks! I go sit in the parking lot of my favorite Starbucks and people watch. It's truly awe-inspiring what people watching can do. Sometimes I'll even go into the Starbucks, but I don't stay long, everyone is having too much fun and the noise blocks my ideas.

I wanted to create characters with diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Although they are supernaturals, they're all different colors, shapes and sizes. I read so much, and I wanted to create a story that would go above and beyond what I felt had been done in my three favorite YA series, and turn it into an erotic and exotic adult series.
