(view spoiler)[Hello Georgia,
I too have a interest in Head Wraps, so much so that I would like to prepare an exhibit at a local museum in Virginia about them. Are you in the states or still in Korea? Do you do speaking engagements? (hide spoiler)]

Yvette, I haven't logged into Goodreads for a few years - I've been in South Korea, just focusing on learning Korean and the local culture. I wish I had seen your question sooner. But I'm hoping we can still connect. If not about this topic, about something else. I'm here. And returning to the U.S. and books and the things I love but haven't indulged in for far too long.

My most recent book is Worth the Wait, a children's book that was illustrated by Korean artist, Sol Lee. Where the idea came from... I don't know. I just remember being in Fukuoka, Japan and thinking about Sol's unique style of drawing. I wanted to work with her and somehow, this amazing book about time and patience came to mind.

The world is truly my muse. When something comes to mind, I daydream about it—I consider my daydreams to be conversations or prayers with God. If I can see the scenario and characters, then I put it on paper and see what happens.

I always have at least three things I'm working on at the same time. One is a cookbook, one is on advice and the third is a children's book. Actually, that one is written. I'm just waiting for the illustrator to send me sketches.

Don't push ahead trying to write a masterpiece. The pressure becomes too great, takes the joy out of writing, and often prolongs the process.

For me, the best thing about being a writer is seeing my babies (books/thoughts/passions) in print. The process can be grueling and stressful and full of inner-turmoil and self-backbiting. But when it's done and copies are delivered, all of my selves—my inner voices and past demons—rejoice in celebration.

I don't have writer's block, so much as I have a decline in faith for the project I'm working on. When that happens, I do one the following: set it aside and work on something else, pick up my copy of Stephen King's "On Writing" for inspiration, write begrudgingly until I get my mojo back.
