Dan Biermeier Just last month a body was discovered, wedged in the support arches of a railroad bridge spanning the Red River near Grand Forks, North Dakota. The body had been frozen in place; welded by the fierce cold winds of our high plains winter.

Was it an accident? Foul play? Suicide by winter? Just plain bad luck?

This news report, coupled in my head with the lyrics of Chris Knight's haunting song; North Dakota, caused me to consider the possibilities. And since I write railroad adventure stories dealing with vigilante hobos tracking ruthless tramps and rail gangsters. I assumed a number of the worst options.

And I intend to include the best one in my series 'The Hobo Kingdom'.

Happy Reading
Dan Biermeier The first 'couple' that come to mind is Augustus 'Gus' McCrae and Woodrow F. Call in 'Lonesome Dove'. Not a couple in a sexual sense, but, you would have to look hard for a deeper friendship. If it's a sexual couple you seek, I could stay in the same story and point to Gus McCrae and Clara Allen. A wonderfully told version of great love lost.
Dan Biermeier A newspaper articles in the USA Today and the Fargo Forum in the late 90's reported a gang had formed on the railroad and was preying on innocent people. I took the stories and turned them into fiction, with family and friendships, Good vs. Evil and coming of age for two boys cast in the middle of all of the violence. I hope good wins.
Dan Biermeier I'm hoping it my next career, so the drive to succeed is all that I need.
Dan Biermeier The second book of 'The Hobo Kingdom' series, A Race to the Crown of Steel. I am about half done. Looks like a late summer publication and not winter 2016 like I had hoped.
Dan Biermeier I am one too. Just write as much as you can while still maintaining family and day job (if like me, you have one). Do not pass up a chance promote your work. Book signings, Service club presentations. Use all of the Amazon options to promote (At least all of the free ones).
Dan Biermeier Telling stories, I am often as surprised as the reader will be when they read the book.
Dan Biermeier I just start writing, typing words to the page, usually the story kicks back in.
