That's a good question. I've racked my brain, or at least what's left of it, and cannot come up with an answer. Strange, because I can come up with all kinds of scenarios about crime/mysteries, but I've never had one. It's probably because I was born during the depression, then the beginning of WWII. There wasn't much crime then were I lived; a murder was huge headlines, Today back burner if at all. I do remember one incident when I was in St. Louis as a child. The first grade I believe. I was sitting on a curb, when I saw a man across the street with an empty potato sack over his shoulder. When he saw me he crossed the street and quick stepped toward me. I ran back to the brick building and when into the rear where the black handyman was located with all his tools. We became buddies and I knew he could protect me. The mystery? What if he wasn't there!

I get an Idea, sometimes years in advance then start working out a plot and sub plot line, add characters think about in my head, before any story is put onto paper.

My new book that will be out around June of 2016 is called Flame Man.

My detective has a two fold venue about life. In the first book you find a lonely man who dislikes the world after his mother and father die and six months later his partner is murdered taking bullets intended for Sammy. Because of his now hateful attitude he takes on any job to make money.
From book one to three, he gradually changes his stripes. Therefore, all three books are about how does this detective find out what villain took pure innocence and turned it into public enemy number one.
I felt I had do one where his client, a waif, was in fact an evil murderer. What better way than a greedy Waif hires him and in the process, due to Sammy's sleuthing skills, learns who started the woman was who started the families downfall.
